Genesis 1:6-8

"And God said, "Let there be an expanse between the waters to separate water from water." So God made the expanse and separated the water under the expanse from the water above it. And it was so. God called the expanse "sky." And there was evening, and there was morning—the second day."

So what I get out of this is that God seperated the sky from the water, but wait. How can the sky be mixed with the water? Maybe he means the clouds. Can you imagine the sky mixed with the water? I don't even know what that would look like.
